Why Specify Mastic Asphalt Paving
Mastic asphalt is laid hot by hand and sets as it cools into a dense, void-free, completely waterproof surface with no joints. Where tarmac is porous and slabs move and crack, mastic asphalt stays seamless, which is why it has been specified for decades on car park decks, walkways and public spaces where water must not reach the structure beneath.
It is slip-resistant, resists fuel and oil spillage, accepts line marking and coloured finishes, and can be repaired invisibly by re-melting. It is also one of the few paving systems that is both the waterproofing layer and the finished surface, so for car park deck waterproofing it saves a layer and a trade.
As an asphalt paving contractor we work for main contractors, housing associations, schools, facilities managers and local authorities across Liverpool, the Wirral, Merseyside, Lancashire, Cheshire and North Wales.
